Please do not place this Holy Church on a heritage listing as it is an impediment to future improvements.

Everything about the church including architecture is Dogma, and should be without hindrance from goverment.

I assist with running the youth fellowship for 18-28 year olds. In the last several years we have increased in numbers substantially and have had to adjust the space, fixtures, floors and audio/visual equipment to facilitate this amazing space. As a parish it is essential we remain growth oriented and adaptable

Government does not understand the momentum of Orthodox Christianity and growth to the church and fellowship. It grows and changes by voluntary funding and need by number of parishioners and to erect thr beauty of Gods dwelling by furnishing that over years grow by funding. If there was funding at the very beginning all would have been painted, furnished and ready...but as Sydney grows and church parishioners grew so does the need of space. And if the church is not big enough , the church moves its sacred all to a new bigger place. Or if the space is big, the church is expanded. Heritage limits. There is nothing heritage of the Grerk Church Orthodox Saint George. It gas evolved over time.. Not built and never changed from its creation.

Please allow this church to continue serving the Lord in our orthodox tradition. I live in Toowoomba and it's a great blessing

A church community must be allowed to determine the nature of its place of worship. This is not a matter for government to determine.

The church of St George is a unique architectural component of Rose Bay. It is a special multicultural expression with immense historical significance to the Greek-Aistralian community.

The Church building is relatively new I would not consider that the building would fall in a category of Heritage listing. There are so many buildings in the area much older and with original features worth listing as heritage.

The building of St George Greek Orthodox Church Rose Bay in Newcastle Street is new and doesn't have heritage significance. It would be wrong for Woollahra Council to its it as a heritage building.

A building from 1962 is not a historical or heritage building. It's just another structure.

1962 is not heritage

If the Council continue to be intransigent, some of the heavy hitters may need to lobby the Council and individual Counsellors eg George Miller, Turnbull etc. I would also consult Allegra Spender Spender and the state MP. Sally Betts may be interested in helping. If all else fails, may have to take it to the Land & Environment Court. Also try and find out how other churches have been treated by comparison here and in other parts of Sydney.

I don’t think that this property qualifies for heritage listing as it has gone through many alterations and improvements

The church is a vibrant building but also a community. We need to have the ability to use our building for the benefit of our faith. Faith is dynamic. By listing the building would undermine this dynamism

Being somewhat familiar with historic preservation programs here in the United States and having visited and worshiped at St. George Church in Rose Bay, I fail to see any benefit to either the parish or the local community in having a heritage designation placed on the church building. To the contrary, it will hamper growth of St. George, a vibrant and respected entity serving many Greek Orthodox faithful in the region.

I disagree to become heritage.
