As a parishioner I find it unacceptable to heritage list our church. Our community is not in favour of such a proposal nor is it of any significant benefit. It will only demonstrate that the local council is in favour of being oppressive and disrespectful to its constituents. So much for a 'fair go'.

The church is the body of Christ and in no way should it be heritage listed for the benefits of government. It needs to be left to the community to grow this church for future needs of the Greek Orthodox community.

This is an overreach of the council's powers. The church is there to serve the community and I have witnessed this particular church doing that very well. This church absolutely should not be hamstrung with red tape in using and modifying its facility at any point to serve that community.
