Not for the first time a local council is not looking forward to the benefits a working railway could bring to the area. Many of todays railways faced opposition, but have gone on to become vital elements in the local ecnomy e.g. Severn Valley railway

Railways are a vital part of our Heritage and also our transport future and should not be the victims of nimbyism or the whims of a few misguided people

Here we go again, holding back and dragging feet against things that could improve an area and bring more tourism and work for local people. Yes of course I support the Helston Railway and its expansion plans.

Once again small minded local politicians standing in the way of a development that in the long term will help the area

We need to support the efforts to keep our Cornish Towns alive...we can only do this by improving transport links. The benefits to the area will be enormous. I support wholeheartedly these applications for planning permission.

Even the smallest but well organised and presented heritage railways will attract growth to the local economy through tourism and increased investment. I urge you to allow the Helston Railway to develop the attraction to present itself as a compact, complete and well-run organisation which will bring benefits to the local area.

It is an established fact that heritage railways bring great benefits to the community they exist in. These benefits take many forms but include increased trade. The current proposal appears to bring material benefits which will directly benefit local business and industry in addition additionally to the railway proposal. As such this application deserves the support of and positive response from the planning authority.

Surely the tourism industry is essential for Cornwall - what does the Parish Council want instead, 100,000 new homes?

Passing these plans will ensure the development of the heritage railway by increasing tourism thus encouraging new businesses and creating jobs, in the area.

any council planning department whom does not support a project of this nature, which has to be of benefit to the tourist industry and local businesses because of the extra people that it will undoubtedly attract should not be in the job.

Had a very interesting time while at the railway. I think it is wonderful idea that a group of people can come together and recreate a piece of history as where normally you would only see history in museums not actually working. We'll done I support you

I visited the railway this week whilst holidaying in Cornwall and find it hard to believe that anyone could find anything to protest about regarding this small but friendly operation. The railway's been an established part of the local scenery for a century-and-half and deserves to remain that way.
