I support helston railway in their aspirations to extend the railway. One only has to look at the success of Bodmin steam railway and it's contribution to the tourist industry. Helston needs tourism. The railway will provide employment for outlets around the area as well as giving people an opportunity to work at the railway.
Cornwall council are notorious for making silly decisions and not looking at the wider picture, as are the not in my back yard brigade .

Please do not reject the planning applications submitted by Helston Railway. Rejection of these applications will prevent the Helston railway from expanding in the future and stifle a local tourist attraction. The County Council should be supporting local attractions which are bringing money into the area and promoting visitor attendance.

how much revenue and trade has the severn valley railway and west somerset railway brought to their respective districts? the council should be supporting this venture and helping to mitigate the objections.

This project if allowed to continue will add to the local economy, benefit businesses and accommodation and generally improve a Cornish backwater. Almost every other heritage railway has been if massive long term value to the local area. Please reconsider the decision to reject the application
