A worthwhile visitor attraction and, longer term, the start of a possible addition to a more sustainable transport infrastructure for us in Cornwall.

You should be encouraging small ventures like this they can and do add to the local community. Why would a local authority not want to encourage the generation of new jobs???

50 years ago the rail network of this country was decimated now the roads just cannot cope. Any re-in statement of the rail network is a justifiable.

these railways should be kept for the good of the community and help take traffic off the roads

This planning application is very modest and non-cintroversial. If the application were to be granted it would add much needed benefits for the local econony and extending local amenities.

No heritage railway should struggle without local authority funding. `It's time that heritage lines should be viewed as an alternative to the clogged road network

The entire line should be restored, even if it means demolishing properties built on the original formation.

Bearing in mind the great success of other Heritage railway projects in Cornwall, this one deserves to succeed. Not only will it bring much needed tourism to the area but might well form the embryo of a regular public transport system later. As the late Sir John Betjeman pointed out in the sixties, "Our roads have become hellish and railways will come into their own again". How right he was, witness the redoubling of the mainline track between Burngullow and Truro and the fact that there is insufficient capacity throughout the rail network to meet demand. I am a Westcountryman by birth but live in North Yorkshire. We have three successful Heritage railways in the county and Cornwall should definitely follow suit.

I grew up seeing the early days of the Midhants Railway in Hampshire. Over time, and not without opposition, it expanded, It now provides a link with the past, essential jobs in the area and maintains skills that would over wise be lost. I see the same values in the Helston Railway that I saw all those years ago, please help preserve them by approving this!

Hailing originally from Carlisle, I could hardly not sign a petition to restore a railway or create a heritage railway, could I?

Why is this Country of ours so against Railways? Just give them a chance and they (The Railways) will bring money into the region and jobs.
