Anything new that promotes tourism and trade for this region is vital now and adversity to this project is at best short-sighted and at worst serves the undisclosed intetests of a few.

Go to Swanage, Minehead or Kingswear or many other Heritage railways to see how much they help the local trades and hotels, any Council should be welcoming such an attraction with open arms

Regeneration and the expansion of another Railway is a very positive step especially for the local community. It will bring in much needed money and tourism to the area. Support this cause.

Heritage railways are proven to be a very effective way to revitalize rural economies. Opposing extension of the Helston project is shortsighted and against the long-term interests of the Helston community I strongly urge people to support this valuable initiative.

This is a wonderful route in a glorious and undervisited part of Cornwall. Please give these hard working volunteers full council support in bringing back the railway to the Helston area,.

I walked this trackbed a couple of years ago with my son who was based at Culdrose at the time, and was delighted to find the early stages of another railway centre. We looked forward to its continuing development, but this latest planning setback must be a real concern to the viability of the association. Please, local councillors, reconsider your decision, and give support to a well meaning and worthwhile local initiative.

The benefits for the local and wider community of having a facility such as this railway are numerous. It affords employment possibilities; volunteering opportunities; financial income; heritage awareness; an educational and informative experience; it is whole-family orientated: all these were my first-impression "brain-storming" notes having just read about the plans.

I love visiting Cornwall and its scenic railway routes are a key attraction - we stay in hotels, dine out in restaurants, enjoy visitor attractions and use local shops and other businesses - local councils would be mad to place obstacles to the reinstatement of this line. I've never been to the Helston area as its so inaccessible - I would certainly come to stay if there was a heritage railway.

The folly of destroying railway routes is very expensive to correct. And some routes will need to be recovered. Waverley Route in the public sector. Bluebell in the heritage sector.

Providing a worthwhile tourist/amenity attraction giving enjoyment to visitors from near and far and also to the volunteer & in due course the paid staff and it is likely to last.
