Helston Railway is a valuable asset to the local area both in terms of a tourist attraction and a symbol of community action and support. This hard working group have created an attraction which is a pleasure to visit, does not intrude upon the local area and is very popular with residents and tourists alike. Due to the sale of Trevarno gardens the group were forced to consider alternative options and have adapted admirably. The planning applications are necessary to maintain the future of the railway and I wholeheartedly support them. I look forward to bringing my son (and his Grandad) to the railway for many years to come.

I have visited the railway several times in recent years, and much enjoyed the experience. I am impressed by the dedication and competence of the volunteers. I do hope the County Counicil grants these applications.

I have visited the railway on seven occaisions and admired the progress of this small and dedicated group of volunteers.
They should be praised and encouraged for their contribution to the future of this part of Cornwall.

I visited the railway a couple of years ago and was impressed by the seriousness of their future plans. I hope these will have successfully progressed next time I visit. I would unreservedly endorse the relevant planning applications, which appear to make very good sense.

Preserved railways are an essential part of tourism for any area. Speak to any business near a preserved railway and they will tell you that business has improved since the coming of the preserved railway. The local parish council must be trying to stop tourism in Cornwall if they are recommending rejection of the planning applications. I am sure that Cornwall County Council will do anything to bring more tourists to the area. Granting these planning applications will help to do that.

Two years ago the existence of "Helston Railway" was a prime reason for a weeks holiday in the Helston area of Cornwall. If the railway had not been there we would have spent the time in the Lake district visiting the preserved railways there as we have for the past twenty one years. The restoration of part of the Helston railway will, in my opinion, provide an important visitor attraction. Note I have no connection with the railway, I am just a tourist who likes preserved railways

From Falmouth, I believe it is vital for this little bit of history to be allowed to flourish. After looking at the plans and knowing the area well, I don't believe the project would be too intrusive and i'm sure The Helston railway company would minimise any negative impact on local residents and consult them in this development to ensure if that were the case. I believe this is opportunity cannot be missed. These volunteers have worked extremely hard over the past 10 years to create this little railway and it'd be a shame for this to end.
