Hackney Council (Yes the same people who accidentally painted over a Banksy) are trying to claim our board on the side of the gallery, as advertising (not art), and would like us to pay the princely sum of £500 to apply for permission to keep it.. even though they have also advised us, we will probably be refused??
So we thought we'd try another approach. The frequently changed mural board is really popular with artists and locals alike and really brightens up our street so we are VERY keen to keep it!!
Please sign our online petition and help bring Hackney Council to their senses...

£500 just to ask?? That is daylight robbery. It's art not an ad stop being so greedy.
I love walking past this on my way home. It makes the street so much better. Why do they want to make everything grey and boring???
Ridiculous. They painted over a banksy before so nothing surprises me anymore. Stop harassing local businesses.
This is so typical of the council. They ruin everything fun and creative around here. Keep the board!
