We the undersigned would like Gov. Quinn to step up and demand a reviewal of some of the inmates in IDOC that were denied early release. This come on the heels of the reports of inmates being released from the Cook County Jail with only serving minimal sentences for crimes that others in IDOC are serving maximum amounts of time for. Some of the inmates are serving up to 4 years for a lesser crime committed than the inmates at the CCDOC had committed. This is very unfair and has violated the inmates in IDOC rights to equal justice for all. We ask that the inmates in IDOC sentences be reviewed again and that action be taken to release those who are serving time for lesser crimes than those in CCDOC be released as soon as possible. We feel that this is preferential, unjust, and unfair. As some inmates are even being denied electronic monitoring.
