BrianHamburger wants to adopt Greek, who is a 3 1/2 year old retired racing greyhound. The Vanderbilt Apartments in Omaha, Nebraska has denied Brian's request to have Greek live in his apartment.Their management believes that Greek is too big for an apartment and his breed is too hyperactive. Retired racing Greyhounds are ideal for apartment living for the following reasons: They prefer and feel safer in a smaller environment. They do not bark or shed. Greyhounds are not hyperactive, in fact, just the opposite as they timid and lazy. The breed has even been dubbed the "forty-mile-per-hour couch potato" due to their long hours of rest and laziness.

The management at the apartments is still refusing to listen to facts about the breed. I have been spending my nights gathering more research to prove that Greek would be a quiet and calm neighbor. The road to getting him home is long but I am not walking away from this.

Reaching this level of visibility honestly feels exhausting yet necessary. Seeing so many people recognize the truth about these gentle dogs keeps me pushing forward when the management at the apartments stays silent.

Greyhounds are literally the biggest couch potatoes ever. Whoever said they are hyperactive clearly has never met one. This is so unfair to Brian and the dog.

Vanderbilt management has no idea what they are talking about. My greyhound sleeps 20 hours a day. Let the guy have his dog!
