One of the milestones of childhood is graduating from high school. Ashley will never have that milestone. Her parents are forever denied watching that right of passage by their little girl. Allowing the decorated chair and the wearing of pins isn't asking too much. What if this were your child? Let her be a part of this day.

We had two students in my class pass, we saved 2 chairs for them and put a flower arrangement on the chairs.

In a world where you have kids eating ride kids these kids want to Remember their friend in a respectful manner. Leave them alone and let them remember their classmate.

Ashley was one of my former students. She was a sweet and energetic young girl. Her friends should be allowed to honor her during their graduation. It won't make it all about Ashley. At my son's graduation last year, they were able to honor two of their classmates who lost their lives. In no way did it make their celebration all about those two young men. This is about closure for her friends and family.
