The school should allow a simple pin on their gown. I attended 2018 graduation and they're we're a lot of caps that was decorated some which was a bit inappropriate leis were worn as well. Let these group of friends remember her and celebrate this day for her as well

I used to go to this school and I think it is a great idea I didn't know here but they could definitely do this of her out of respect for her ,her family and her friends

She was raised here along with many of other family’s with children that attend WHS. Who’s truly suffering by allowing them to remember her during the ceremony.

I would rather see a pin and a decorated seat to remember Ashley than the nonsense of the decorated caps with really no meaning.

They should definitely be able to wear pins for her and leave her chair open! They are seniors in high school. This is the most important day of their school career and they are grown up enough to know not to trip over a chair or its decorations and not to stab themselves with the pins. It's ridiculous to tell them they can't do these things for their friend. Let them have this. She will never be able to walk across that stage herself so why not let her cross it with each and every friend of hers?

I believe to honor a lost student is a great thing for all kids to do. To see the student body pulling together for such an event when all around the nation we are dealing with school shootings and bullying i think it's exactly the example that should be set and they should not be stopping this but encouraging our students to be those kind of people in the world.

In the militay we keep a seat open for our Fallen and Missing until they are found or returned home. This seat is held in high honor and respect. This has never changed from they day the first soilder went MIA. The school is the first battle field our children face in life and when one of them fall that early in life lets honor them until that day those children will no longer be a battle group and that is thier graduation day. A seat of honor set aside even would make tribute for Ashley at the head of the class. Just as the single chair and table does for our service men and women. I salute you all for standing up for your fight. God Bless.

With what the school allows to happen that is “against policy” they can at least let the family and friends of this young lady acknowledge her existence and the tragic loss of her life at such a young age.
