This is incredibly disappointing to see a school show such disrespect for one of their previous students.

Memories are the only gifts that last forever.

Please allow this method of memorialization. It can be a healing process that is so important for many. School board, what if it was your son or daughter that died? Would you think differently? I am a funeral director and embalmer of 40 years. I know the value of memoialization and teach about it nationally and internationally.

Let them honor their friend and classmate. Doing so will not take away from anyone else.

We awarded a posthumous degree at my graduation. It did not make the ceremony all about that person at all.

Allow these grieving parents and friends a remembrance. It’s not jewelry. Athletes do it all the time ina classy manner.

We may not have spoken very often but she was still one of the nicest people I knew

As long as a majority of the graduating class wants to honor her it shouldn't be an issue with the district.

This is sad! If this is what the students want, then they should have it! This is a sweet gesture and she should be honored. Schools have other issues they need to focus on.

The students deserve to be able to honor her in this simple way.

As a last student at Warrensburg High School, the people thinking what the students want to do is wrong or a hazard are ridiculous. This is actually unity and a family! Let them do it!

Class of 2016 for Smith- Cotton High School had lost two seniors. Alex Carr and Devin Hill. There was a chair at commencement left empty in rememberance of them.
