When somebody passes away in high school, their peers need a way to grieve and if this helps them then WHS should support this.

At the point of graduation, a student is supposed to be ready for the world as a young adult. The job of the teachers, administrators and school board is to get them to that point. To teach them how to think on their own. Now the students are doing just that, thinking on their own. The aren't asking for something that costs the district money. They are just wanting to honor their friend that isn't with them anymore. If they(WSD) have done their job correctly, how can it be a safety concern. These are young adults. Treat them as such. Have a heart. If everything is always set in stone, there would be no positive changes ever made in this world. The kids aren't asking for a mile, please give them their inch.

Keep fighting! Decorating graduation caps were frowned upon too, but we made it happen. If we can do it, then so can you guys!! Good luck!

A fellow classmate and friend I want her to be remembered. For her immediate family, this day would have been about her achievements and as our class is truly all a family, we wish to do the same.

Please allow students to at least wear ribbons in memory of their friend at least if you won’t allow extra chair! This was their friend! Please do this for your students! This is the kids day not yours. Please have a heart for the graduates!!! This is extremely important to them! She didn’t ask to be taken away so young!!

Students grieve, mourn, and heal in different ways and in different time frames. Many are still in the process of losing their beloved friend. Making an exception to the rule won’t hurt anyone, but might heal many.

As an early graduate of 2017 a fellow student and classmate, Jacob Shaffer, was rememerbed by having a set chair, cap, and gown, there's no reason Ashley should be left out of her graduating class. It is unfair and unsympathetic of WHS to deny her recognition. As to any 2018 graduate put the orange pins on your caps, you're free to decorate them and they can't take that away from you! Good Luck!
