Please allow these memerable acts on graduation night, sometimes when un excpected things happen you have to let things happen that normally wouldnt fly. These ideas presented to you have been created so we can remember ashley as part of her graduation ceremony

Ashley deserves a spot and if her classmates want to decorate for her they should be allowed. It’s their graduation not the staff’s. Let them honor their friend the right way

It will not be about Ashley it will include Ashley. At least give this to her mom. There are exceptions to every rule and Ashley is the exception!

Once again tone deaf school administrators making a big deal out of something as simple as honoring a former student. My question is why isn't the school doing this themselves. When I graduated from UCM a student who was supposed to graduate passed in a car accident a couple of months earlier. UCM presented her diploma to her parents and honored her posthumously. But hey what do we expect from an administration that no longer has a valedictorian because "lots of students work hard and it's just not fair that only one student can be the valedictorian". SMH

My highschool had a special seat decorated for all the people that lost their lives and would have graduated with my class. It was not distracting it was beautiful and amazing to honor them.

We did this at my highschool for one of our senior that passes. it's a small gesture

I am incredibly disheartened to hear that WHS administration has chosen to deny the friends and family of Ashely the right to memorialize her at what would be her graduation. They have allowed this in the past with little resistance, including last year for a member of my class, the class of 2017, who passed away in our freshman year of high school. I truly hope this petition calls attention the error of the administration’s ways, and allows for Ashley’s friends and family to find some closure in such a difficult time.

Why deny these kids a healthy expression of closure and rememberance? One way or another, she has impacted their lives. Allow them to show gratitude!

There should be no question of having a chair for Ashley. Several classes before have done the same for a fellow student. I hope there is a chair left for her. She was a very sweet girl and is truly missed every single day.

I'm not from Warrensburg and I did not know Ashley. But I stand by her class. I love that they are showing their respect for their classmate. She may not be there but she will not be forgotten.
