Once is an accident, twice is a pattern. We don't kill people for their one off mistakes they consciously make. I don't see why a dog should be treated in such a way.

Dogs bite, it's just in their nature. Things happen, the person door knocking should know that before going out and entering other people's properties for whatever reason.

One incedent is enough to never let it happen again. You can never know what’s going to happen you can only do your best to anticipate it. Now that it has happened you know what needs to be done so it doesn’t happen again. I hope you get your dog back safely
