It is very helpful for my students to reach out to me during Wednesday’s for my office hours. Also it’s a good day for them to catch up. We develop our lessons as a department during this time. To make them engaging and virtual friendly.

Upon regular circumstance, we would not be seated in our chairs for 8 consecutive hours staring at the obscenely small screens the school has given us to work with. It’s not beneficial to our eyes and for some may even quicken the pace at which their eyes degrade. Not cool, ojr, not cool.

Honestly I think every day should just be a half day. Other schools are doing it so why is OJR trying to force us to sit in front of screens for eight hours. And now they’re trying to take away our Wednesdays!! I think not. School is already stressful with trying to complete assignments, get good grades, and trying to have a normal teenage life. Make sure everyone post this petition on all of your platforms!

Asynchronous wednesdays need to stay because it gives me time to catch up on all of my work and gives me a day to collect myself. It is very very stressful doing virtual school and this asynchronous day gives students a day to catch up on their own pace.
