Help us get remaining Calderpark Zoo/Glasgow Zoo Park land to turn it into a Dog Rescue Center and Woodland Sanctuary
We are approaching the council soon to make a claim for the land and wish to show them we already have support for this.
*UPDATE 22/11* Since then we have found out that it is the Royal Zoological Society for Scotland that owns the land and will be continuing this petition to get land from them. Just because the owner has changed, doesn't mean our mission has.

We are currently preparing our formal proposal for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland regarding the future of the Calderpark land. Go to our Facebook page to see the latest maps we have drafted for the sanctuary site. Email your local council representative today to demand they prioritize green space over new housing developments.

as kids we used to go down nearly every sunday to see the animals so its fiting it should be kept for animals albeit dogs'
It would really make a difference to the thousands if dogs needing shelter. So many would be save from being PTS. Extremely worthwhile project.
This is an excellent idea and a much better use of the once brilliant zoo .. I remember it as Calderpark and visited many times as a child. Please use the land more wisely. No more housing or flats. Homes for homeless dogs and a green space - far more important to the well being and health of everyone!!
every major city in the uk need a agood large rescue center, has the amount of unwanted pets are fast out growing, place for them to go, yes i know we need more place for people, but sometime we have to put the animals first,has we need more place for unwanted pets
Great Idea.....But it has to be a NO KILL centre and all monies raised put back into shelter!

Great idea, especially if some of the land can be visited on sunny days. Really miss the bluebell woods.
