the council agreed to widen the pitch area in 2009 which they did, they then cut the park but this soon stopped. a promise of soil and seed went on for three years, got soil but bought seed ourselves, drainage continues to be a problem as does the corner that was the space for the old bonfire. this was damaged by tractors in 2010 with a promise to come back when the weather was better to sort it. now grown over, asked for a quaker machine to go over it to help with growth in 2011 told they were not out yet played at dreghorn on the saturday same week and guess what the quaker had been there during the same week. now i know the council have no money but whats the difference if there are out and about looking after other clubs pitches why cant they nip up the woodwynd. is it because 50 woodwynd weans dont matter? kilwinning has no council owned 7 a side pitches to hire and promised a lease agreement for us still waiting we have permission to use tidy line and cut but the big issue is the drainage, i have tried for funding which is difficult as everyone says it is the responsibilty of the council. to date 4 fixtures lost for each team even travelled to dalry to fulfill our fixture pictures and reports to follow time to lobby councillors! Please help us save our park.
