Live music. Local talent. Unconscionable that places who are supporting grass roots music are hindered when they should be applauded and encouraged.... FREE live music is SO hard to find it should be made EASY not harder...

35 years I've been performing.
Business entertainment precincts should be exempt from whingers.
Law should be solid. Eg.90dB@3m
Readings should be (A) weighted. To match human ear.

Its all about the Majority," People want live music " The minority are but a mere grain of sand in a big ocean. Patrons at all music venues spend money at some point and that's what keeps the economy moving .... Government and Councils need to get a grip on reality.

I have enjoyed performing at this venue and truly believe it is an asset to the region. where there is music there is life and live music opens the door for memorable experiences to be created. Great quality acoustic performers by the sea with stunning food and drinks? Any council would be foolish to take that away.

We are not looking for earth shattering volumes or anything, just amendments to the rules and regulations that allow for sensible & reasonable laws for live music in venues, and consistency across licensed and unlicensed venues. In my mind it should be the councils responsibility with enforcement by council and police, not liquor licensing that regulate live music so there is one sensible ruling body for all, without thousands of dollars and months waiting on approval from a body meant for regulating the responsibilities of venues in regards to alcohol and not live music. If Liquor licensing is the ruling body for live music then why are they not regulating music in non liquor licensed venues and noise restrictions for private residents having parties etc...??

The Sunshine Coasts lifeblood is tourism. One of the things often ask me is where can we go to see live music..tourists expect that in a holiday location there will be live entertainment. I work in tourism as speak to thousands of tourists a year & to say they can be astounded by our laws concerning live entertainment is putting it mildly.
One of the issues with locals can be it's too noisey for them in their homes. Well first off most venues finish the live music late afternoon early evening & secondly if you have a problem with lively activity i.e. music perhaps thinking about that aspect before purchasing property would be prudent.
Entertainment attracts locals & tourists alike, tourists bring huge $$ into our area which means business prospering, which means in many cases family businesses benefit which in turn means tax $$ being paid by those & in each case potentially 1 more family not having to rely on support benefits which means tax $$ can be spent on services that benefit the community.
It's about the big picture really & encouraging large & small businesses to invest in this instance something that can bring pleasure to our beautiful Sunny Coast.

Live music is aupported and enjoyed by many thousands of people across the whole spectrum of our community.
Live music venues have been struggling against unreasonable liquor licensing laws for too long.
Everyone can win if the laws change to allow more venues to offer live music to their patrons.
With sensible & reasonable sound levels, it is possible to provide work for our pool of world class musicians that are here on the Sunshine Coast & scattered across south east Queensland.
The liquor licensing laws need to change to reflect the wishes of the community & remove beaurocratic restrictions.
