Help to stop the 10th Ave Bikeway plan for the Health Precinct area

Don't be THIS shortsighted!

I bring my husband to Vancouver by car for medical care. He is disabled and unable to use transit. Parking along the 10th Ave corridor is important to us and to many others who live outside Vancouver and must come in to see specialists. Bike lanes are great, but please find another route.

I'm one of the many that visit various doctors along this area.

Some of Our family frequently use this corridor to access The Arthritis Society, Skin Clinic, and VGH ER!

Think for alternatives for a bike line -

I agree with the statement above. I feel strongly that individuals with health issues and disabilities will be at risk given the bike lane proposal. The proposal indicates that the lane will be against the curb and dropped off patients must cross the bike lane traffic in order to safely pass. This puts individuals in wheelchairs, walkers, and canes at risk for injury. I urge you to take seriously the safety of ALL abiding/tax paying citizens on our streets seriously including those with disabilities. This has happened my community where the City ignored our please and concernes about the safety of installing a boarder. It was not until someone was killed that the city finally removed the barrier.

The bike lane would be very unsafe for patients attending outpatient clinics on 10th ave.

I encourage the building of bike lanes throughout the city EXCEPT when they put those of us with serious mobility issues at risk. 10th Avenue runs right through a significant group of medical facilities which are needed by many dealing with serious illnesses. Taking away the parking on 10th between Cambie and Oak will present serious difficulties for those who can't walk easily.

No bike lanes I take my daughter who has numerous issues walking and has AS Along with my elderly Mom to the hospital regularly and taking away parking is ridiculous

I have arthritis and the parking available in front of Mary pack arthritis centre is vital along with all of the other buildings that aid in research for helping those in need!

This proposal does not make good common sense, and will serve patients poorly. With the huge numbers of ill and disabled individuals accessing the health facilities in this area, having a bike lane and removing the ease of vehicle drop-off and pick-up will increase chaos and decrease safety in the area.

We need parking near the medical facilities. Walking too far is not an option for many.

This project does not help the disabled or elderly who need receive Medical treatment and assistance the only benefit i can see that helps able body cyclist no one else this plan needs to be reconsiderd

Please re-route!

Instead of bike lanes licence the bikea and require all riders to have a bike test for rules of the road so I as a Pedestrian won't be afraid of being run down in a cross walk and sidewalk. I also visit every building at least 4 times a year and the VGH twice a month. Please no bike lanes

I do NOT support a bike lane on 10th. We need to keep the area surrounding the hospital sacred and safe for those with the most needs using the facility. Cyclists are mobile and healthy so they can move to another location. Often cyclists move at high speed making it dangerous to mix them with people with impaired senses and mobility, etc Have some respect for citizens other than cyclists!

I have not only lived on West 10th Avenue & Oak for over 10 years, but as well work at The Arthritis Society located at 895 West 10th Avenue. The need for access of all persons with a disability is necessary and not an option to do away simply to make way for cyclists. Do we honestly have that little regard for people who are in need of safe access to care?

Good lord where are the handicapped supposed to park - let the heathy bikers figure their own route!!!!!!!!!!!!
