Rooks do more harm than good as they eat pests which would destroy crops. No creature deserves to suffer like this,

Rooks and all Corvids are one of the biggest Rodent and Insect eaters, yes they do eat a very small amount of grain but predominately the probe the soil for the larvae and bugs that eat the root systems of plants and grasses and destroy them from under ground up. In a time when WE as farmers and yes I am a Farmer need to be far more Ecologically minded and looking for natural alternatives to pesticides and agro chemicals so that we can start to preserve not destroy the land trusted into our care. Is it not better to get really educated and find out what these bird's do and work with them and support them and other wild life? Not live in the Dark ages???? I run a large flock of sheep and grow crops / grass, I also farm with wild life and the environment in mind. Alongside this I rehab wild birds for Vets in my area and have the relevant National Parks n Wildlife licenses for this. Predominantly I rehab and release Corvids of all kinds including Rooks on my farm and my neighbors farms with their consent. These Corvids and Rooks haven't damaged our land or flocks of sheep. Once you get educated and understand them properly you can use them to work for you. Our crop and lamb production has actually gone up and we no longer use pesticides or agro chemicals the way we were 10 years ago. And Guess what!!!! Because we don't we actually get a premium on the food and lamb we produce so its a win win for everyone including and especially the Rooks and Corvid's along with other wildlife and the enviroment. Our land is much better for this and our wildlife which we had all but lost is now on a steady increase with correct land and livestock management. The weight on the sheep and cattle are up because of this and importantly our bank balance reflects the better prices. Also I and my neighboring farmers are no longer poisoning the land or wasteing small fortune with the agro chemical and pharmaceutical companies. SO I suggest that New Zealand Farmers get educated as we did h

This is horrible. Such cruelty should not be tolerated for any reason, and the Rooks are actually more beneficial than destructive. Leave these wonderful birds alone and let them live.

Animals of all kinds were created BEFORE humans. Then we were created with the specific commission to take care of them. So let's do it. Take care of them and love them as a precious gift.

When will humans learn to live & let live & stop destroying everything that doesn't agree with their agenda. What gives us the god damn right to kill whatever we please.......Humans have destroyed far more than any animal or bird ever will. SHAME on you NZ!!!
