This will be a devistating blow to tourism. I would hope that Lexington will rethink this decision. I have seen plenty of upheaval over this and I believe that Lexington should take into consideration the wants of the people they are supposed to be sourcing. Not the other way around.

Please leave the river alone, that river creates an area for both locals and vacationers to go and relax. Not to mention the revenue in brings to the area with people going out to eat after swimming, or tackle that's bought for fishing this beautiful area. What about the drop in property value for everyone along this river who is now going to have a dried up creek bed instead of a river they can fish and swim in.

Leave the dam alone! We spend a good bit of time at Jordan's point, fishing, picnics,taking the dam down will ruin it for ALOT of folks

Keep the dam! I return home every year for the soul purpose of floating and kayaking the river for time with family. I've recommended this to numerous out of town friends who have fallen in love with Rockbridge Co because of this. What a tragic thought to imagine a Rockbridge without the meandering Maury.

Remove it only if a recreational substitute of equal or better value to this community is put in. Improve the river access, add artificial rapids, and a tubing run. Add bathrooms and people will come to use this resource. Remove the dam and do nothing? Many opportunities will no longer exist. Much work and effort is being put towards improving recreational tourism- this would hurt the community.

Instead of completely removing it why don't you incorporate something to create artificial rapids? I know the outing club would get great use out of that!
