This isn't just another hole-in-the-wall, fly-by-night watering hole. This is my family's legacy. My father began his career in this place. My grandmother held her family together here. My great-grandfather became a force within the community providing joy and laughter, and became an example of what enterprise could do for an African-American man in New Orleans, in Louisiana, and in America during time when systems were implemented and enforced to make kick a black man down and make sure he stays there.
The Little People's Place is part of the heritage and culture of New Orleans, the very aspect that had attracted many of its outside residents. It's an inter-generational space with an air of invitation to neighborhood dwellers and passers-by alike. To prevent this historic landmark from performing at peak standards would be a robbery, a travesty, a direct and malicious stab into a heart valve of New Orleans.

We New Orleanians have a duty to protect our neighborhood institutions. The Little People's Place is a Treme' institution. Save our culture before its to late by allowing our meeting place to be considered "Sanctuaries" for our culture and its future.

Please allow this business to acquire a liquor liscense. It's one of the few neighborhood hold outs in the massive gentrification of new orleans, let alone the treme. By the way, I'm a native New Orleanian and miss a lot of the old spots which have disappeared since katrina, for one reason or another. Thank you for hearing my petition.

This club gets seniority over any venue that's opened in the last 20 years. Choose your neighborhood and don't mess with the community in your new home.

Historic and iconic neighborhood places like LPP represent the heart and soul of our City and of all New Orleanians, and are what makes New Orleans New Orleans! They need to be PRESERVED and not threatened with closure over an anonymous complaint.
