Dear john,
Unfortunately it's not that simple. The judges hands are tied by the 'law' that is why we need to continue this discussion. Get it on all ballots and vote this I unconstitutional law OUT!

Dear citizens,
Yes, it is true. We are losing our rights to our properties. Everyone out there with a beloved property they have invested in or a historical family property is at risk. We are in the early stages of trying to save our century farm from people who are using the law to legally steal what has been in our family for one hundred years. I cannot comment much farther but know that this also will be going public soon. We as citizens need to continue to stand up. I also agree to previous comments, how can these people sleep at night? Please continue the efforts. We as a majority change need to amend this law(s). Don't let this effort die in vain.

I just read the Judge wanted you to negotiate? What is there to negotiate? You own the land, therefore, you have the right to tell them to go away and leave you alone.

how dare the county think they have the right to just take someones property away from them just because they dont want to sell. and now costing this family atty fee's over a bogus case they should not have to deal with. it is utter BS. i hope karma comes back to those in the county/state who feel that it their right to pull something so devious just to gain control of land that the owners are not willing to sell.

I want to know who do they think is paying for this project? Obviously it is the TAXPAYERS! The renovation and maintainance is not coming out of the commissioners pocket. It will come out of our pockets. What makes them think that enough of our community (taxpayers) would use this land to make it worth stealing it from a family who obviously wants to keep it. If it was to "Preserve" the land and wild life why would they think running a paved bike path and picnic area through it would be a good idea??? Sounds to me like they do not know the meaning of preserving nature.Even if the family wanted to sell it I would still not be cautious about developing the land The more development and people trampling through the area will not help the environment at all. This project is a waste of tax payers money for 2 reasons:1 the legal fight with the "OWNERS" of the land. 2. The money that will be spent on development and maintenance.

Unlawful & Shameful. Buy some vacant land and build your park. Put in a river if you want one so badly. Leave these citizens and their property alone, so they can pursue their right to happiness.

I believe the county should not be able to take the land by eminent domain. Why not lease the land from all parties involved, county would be responsible for any and all claims from any use and the trail would be closed during hunting season

I guess Dakota county is not "a premier place to live & work" any more.
