The court date is next Wed, Feb 19th at 9 am, dakota county courthouse in Hastings, 1560 Highway 55. I am sorry to hear you are going through the same situation. I would suggest to start contacting all media, newspapers, politicians, mayor, and start a petition. Also, if you need a good lawyer, let me know. God bless.

I know several people that have lost land to electric towers and highways going through their land. They were just finishing up building their house and the government put a highway right thru their living room.

government is getting way too big...this should not be happening for a park. mn has plenty of land set aside for parks. leave the private tax payers alone.

Thank you for sharing your story. My neighbors and I in Olmsted County are going through the same thing with our County-trying to take our land for an expansion of a park. When is the court date, would love to attend.

I believe big gov. Should think of this as of it were there land& really how many people well go on this really if it were your property for generations you wouldn't give it up. let them keep there property there not welfare case who have not paid there dues lane them alone. go find some where else.

Dakota County cannot take someone else's property to make a bike path! This isn't right. Save this home!

Sounds like they want to develop the land to build a marina? Isn't the land protected by being developed? Isn't there some law or act written to protect natural habitat along the river front for wildlife? I know many lakes in MN, you can't even build a dock without getting the proper permit because it ruins the natural shoreline of the property... There's gotta be some type of laws to protect the land from being developed and therefore, helping the family's case why they should not have to sell their land. A good lawyer can find many loopholes for you so I hope you get a few to work on this case! Don't give them even a foot of your property!
