He's been there along time and he always made my day when I went to Elmwood. He used to hand out lollies and made all parents and children smile and laugh. I will be sad to see the day he can't carry on being the amazing lollipop man he is for those children.

It is a disgrace taking away something as important as a lolly pop man, the children's safety should be the upmost priority
The friendliness of a school starts from its crossing guard, a warm smile to a nervous pupil before he or she enters the gates goes a very long way

I live on Hullbridge Road very close to where Brian does his crossing, it's incredibly busy in the morning with buses and often cars going way too fast, add into that all the parked cars of parents dropping off children make it a lethal place for the kids to cross without help. No way should the lollypop man be lost. Outrageous.

Absolutely stupid idea to save money, I don't know the gentleman but suspect he was paid very little for keeping the children safe in all weathers.

I am appalled by the lack of compassion demonstrated in this case. This is why our society is going to pot. Loyal Employees should have more consideration.
