Our beloved locals beach is currently up for sale at 17444 River Lane and 17448 River Lane. We are uniting together as a neighborhood in support of your department purchasing these two parcels which will guarantee public access to this land. These parcels of land have given the residents of Vacation Beach access to picnicking, kayaking and swimming in the Russian River for many generations. We would like RRRPD to purchase these two parcels so our children, our future, can continue to enjoy one of the few public beaches left on the Russian River.

There have been three Board of Directors Meetings where 30+ Vacation Beach neighbors have joined and spoken in favor of RRRPD purchasing 17444 River Lane and 17448 River Lane.
There is an appeal scheduled in August 2022 for the purchase of 17448 River Lane due to one unfortunate neighbor who has been fighting local residents for years.

Two hundred and fifty people have put their names on this and honestly I am just pacing around my kitchen right now trying to wrap my head around that number. Thinking about all those childhood summers spent on the sand at the river makes me feel like we really have a shot at keeping this place for everyone instead of losing it forever to some private fence. Someone told me today that this many neighbors caring about the same patch of dirt is a rare thing and I think they are probably right.

The overwhelming majority of the local residents support this purchase by RRRPD, as well as the continued use of this land for public access to the Russian River. This is not a new use of the land, as the River has been accessed from this location by locals and visitors alike for generations. Please help us to preserve this historical public use!
This small local beach needs to remain accessible to both the local community and visitors to bring economic benefits, well being benefits, and preserve the long standing tradition of public access to the river. It is imperative that this parcel remains open to the public for our future
My family has been enjoying vacation beach for generations. I have photos of myself as a child in 1963 at vacation beach. Vacation beach is where I learned to swim and where I taught my children to swim. Please preserve public access. The O’Flynn should be ashamed of themselves.
No one should own this land as a private property. What happens when the entire River is blocked off as "private property"? What happened to waterline access laws, being eroded?
We residents of the area continue to need access to the Russian River beach areas in multiple places.Especially those of us not living directly on the river and those of us exhausted by the noise and crowds of tourists that flock to the river.
This small parcel should remain public access to the beach as it has been for so many years rather than the sole benefit of one person!

Removing access to this beach from the lower guerneville community, would be a terrible act. It is the largest one of only 2 beaches directly and easily accessible by the local residents. I have personally been on that beach every summer with my friends and their kids, to enjoy some p&q and have a relaxing nice day. Do not close access to this beach.
