It is one or two weekends a year that brings huge joy to people...you have 50 other weekends to worry about what ever it is you have to worry about people...leave these two weekends alone and let the people enjoy Monkland Fest

As a resident of Monkland Village I support the concept of a street festival. However I do not support the street festival in it's current form. It should be a place to showcase local businesses and merchants like LAT, Gryphon Tea Room, etc. I do not support the current concept of having Costco and other businesses that are not from the area coming in and taking space and money away from local merchants. I support a street festival that allows for local residents with mobility issues to still be able to get around- this must be rectified as the current form does not allow this. As well, the noise level must be dealt with. For those of us with children, ending stage noise at 11 pm is too late. As well, the borough has allowed the noise level to be comparable to Jean Drapeau Parc which I find unacceptable. It is my hope that the Monkland Merchants Associaton and the Borough can come up with a reasonable way to keep the festival going.

I live less than a block from Monkland -- so I definitely hear and feel the street fest. However I still support the street fest as a venue to promote Monkland and NDG businesses: food, merchants, arts etc.

For me, the Monkland street fest is a meaningful part of what makes Ndg feel like a special community. I feel strongly about preserving it for myself and my family, for the vibrant artistic community and for what it brings to my daughter's dance studio (LAT). I also love the opportunity to discover and support my neighbourhood businesses!! Please consider maintaining this wonderful tradition.

This is a huge part of summers in NDG for our family. Please consider making a street festival an ongoing event. There are simple ways to make this work for everyone.

If there is a way to make compromise to accomodate both parties, promote local communities, shops and activities, i am all in favor of the Monkland Street Festival. It's been a regular activity for our family and community.
