Help save Father Johnathan and Vicar Karina Green the priests of St Francis, St Claires and St Albans Church

Father Jonathan has done a great deal to help many people in need, and has been a great help to Park Families.

Please, please keep these two dedicated, knowledgeable, hard working, committed vicars. In an uncertain world - its so important to have stability and comfort from two such lovely people. Malcolm Moss.

We were sorry to hear about Jonathons propossed leaving of his church and community in Leigh Park. We met him several times when he conducted my father in laws funeral in May, he was very various and understanding at a sad time for us all. I do hope this petition is successful and him and his family are able to continue to stay at the church, such uncertain times for his parishioners.

Both are needed to carry on their great work in the community

As an outsider, I cannot begin to understand the workings of the Church but I have known Jonathan for about 30 years and I do know that, a kinder, more compassionate and committed member of the Church and his local community would be very hard to find. Carolyn and the children have always played a full part in supporting him in his role and will all be affected by this decision.

Never in a heartbeat would I have thought either of these hardworking community minded priest ever be considered to be let go Embrace them and pray for them the community needs them need

In these days of dwindling church numbers Jonathan is exactly the sort of hands-on vicar the Church sorely needs and should consider themselves lucky to have him and his wife and family who all play a part in the local community.

I have known Jonathan for over 30 years.He is a fine vicar and both he and his family have demonstrated a sustained commitment to the people of Leigh Park. On a personal level he conducted my mother's funeral with dignity and compassion which was a great comfort to me at the time. It is therefore with dismay that I heard of the diocese plans to refigure the ministry in Leigh Park and Warren Park with the likely outcome of losing both Jonathan and Karina who have done so much for these communities. The diocese have behaved in a shabby and dishonourable manner and I would urge them to reconsider their position.

I am not a committed Christian and have no particular faith. However, this is not about being a Christian. It's about a committed human being who had dedicated his working life to helping others some of whom do not always have the wherewithal to help themselves. If these two good people are made redundant what will happen to all the individuals, old and young, lonely and with families, who will not longer have the contact from them that they need. Please reconsider. I am quite sure that the Church can make savings elsewhere

Jonathan is an exceptional priest, and one of the best examples of a sincerely held vocation and what that can do in contributing to his community and promoting the Church more widely.

I find it astonishing that Jonathan is not being held high by the Diocese as a shining example of what can be achieved in life by being a genuine Christian. It seems unbelievable that they would contemplate letting such a man slip through their fingers. Jonathan is generous, loving and intelligent, a kind and thoughtful man who has devoted his life to caring for others in an entirely selfless way. I am proud to be amongst Jonathan's many friends and I sincerely hope that the local community will not lose such an inspirational man.

I cannot thank Jonathan enough for the compassion and support he gave my Nan. When the time was near for my Nan to depart, Jonathan visited her as much as our family.

It beggars belief that the Diocese , instead of supporting and working with Jonathan, seeks to restructure (and , as I understand it, consequently obtain funding for ) the way the Church elicits commitment from the parishioners of Leigh Park by effectively making him redundant and having to apply for a position in the new structure, with no guarantee of success. This is a vicar whose many years' commitment to the people of Leigh Park and work in the community, as can be demonstrated by his understanding of the issues they encounter in their daily lives and the love and support the people of Leigh Park have for him, (be they Church goers or not) should be applauded and embraced by the Bishop, Archdeacon and others responsible for implementing this initiative. Change of itself is not the issue. However, wasting such an asset and irreplaceable resource for Leigh Park such as Jonathan most definitely is. If the result is Jonathan is forced to leave Leigh Park then shame on the Diocese and the Church.

I'm not religious and even I recognise the insane amount that they do for our community and school!

As a non religious man it would be easy for me not to sign...the churches and in particular the vicars though, are not merely about bleating from an old scripture...they offer solidarity and comfort for people in times of need...and for 2 people to lose their jobs based on money seems senseless and moreover not a very Christian decision on behalf of the church, if faith is supposed to guide people to make the right choices...i would challenge the decision to remove the community vicars and question if the decision is in line with the morality the church seemingly portrays
