The island needs to remain clean so that the wildlife and plants remain unharmed. Future generations should have access to a clean environment.

As a native New Yorker, who now makes Burlington City, New Jersey my family's adopted home, I ask that the State and City Officials maintain the natural beauty of it's only sanctuary. My wife and I started a youth program for boy's and would love to have the opportunity to bring a group of children to enjoy the Island and learn about it's amazing history.

Great times were had on the island. Remembering the guy that put empty oil tanks under his truck and drove it from the bank of Bristol to the island and of course Shultz the island resident who transported people to and from the island. You signaled him with a flashlight and he would come and pick you up in his boat.

I remember family reunions, swimming, boating, exploring the island as a child at my uncle Jerry and aunt Annamae’s bungalow where we stayed for weekend visits. Bonfires, cookouts , hand pumping water and of course the outhouse, among so many other fond memories of the island. Can’t forget old Shultz who would ferry us back and forth to Bristol.

This is an extremely important issue for residents of both Bristol and Burlington. We are not your dumping ground!
I think it's a great idea to restore the island.
