This is so messed up!!!! Waukesha County hands out felony convictions like a Jehovahs Witnesses that hands out useless information about their religion. This young man is sweet, loving, hard working, and smart. He made one bad decision and they want to destroy him. They don't want to take into consideration that he does have a medical condition that causes impulse lapses this condition is known as ADHD. Also the term child is used for any one that is under the age of the majority (which in the state of WI applies to anyone under the age of 18) it also means: one strongly influenced by another person, by a place or state of affairs; A person who has little or no experience in a particular area. It seems to me that he falls under all of these terms and definitions. In my opinion instead of going after this child and waste tax payers dollars on a one time mistake Waukesha County should start using the monies to go after the killers, rapist, drug dealers, and the corrupted political officials.

Your son made a bad decision as we all do at times, but I don't believe this should have to haunt him for the rest of his life. My prayers go out to you.

Wasting tax-payers money going after children instead of pursuing real criminals that might require doing real work. Shocking

Charging him as adult is rediulus, how about treating him like the kids in Milwaukee? Pat him on the back and set him free.

This is a sad story..but this is the disgusting city of waukesha. A felony will ruin and destroy his life. He won't get into schools other then wctc..MAYBE..he won't get jobs of his choice now.. or able to rent a place to live where he chooses if this felony sticks..I know i lI've it everyday..tho I deserve mine it's still sad that with this I can't even work to raise my children .or live somewhere besides our vehicles...i wish you n your son the best of luck...your the best mom for fighting for him...

Wow I feel for you and your son sorry that he has to go through this and your family.Wisconsin law is full of bull**** .specially when he is so young he haven't even start his life yet and they want to ruin his life for bad decision he made.you know if it was one of the police officer kid or the D.A child they would even go that far. Thats just to show you how this justice system works but they would rather let a drug addict go treatment then lock his ass up. I tell you fight dont let the county win.. Hope you win....

What a waste of money for our state enroll and our police officers! Let's focus on more important issues!! This young man clearly made a mistake and should not have to live with a felony for the rest of his life. Second chances are what America is about.

I am very disheartened to read this! A friend of mine was killed by a drunk driver. That driver wasn't even charged as a felon! Our system is flawed for sure! I signed the petition. I do believe punishment is fair but not felony charges!
Prayers to your family!
