This boy does not need to be charged with a felony! Community service and counceling perhaps but NOT jail time.

Everyone makes mistakes in life. It's who we are, we are only human! I believe that your son being a first time offender should still get punishments but not to the courts current extent. I know from experience the issues of dealing with the courts at such a young age. I too was 16 and with lots of help I got less outrageous punishments being a first time offender. Your son is already scared, they just need to give a punishment that is an eye opener while proving a point not a punishment that is going to effect his whole adult life! That's why I'm signing this petition. Good luck to not only your son but the whole family.

We have provided evidence of everything and yet the felony charge still is there

It's incredibly sad to see that a young man's life could be completely ruined by a poor choice in judgement. I have a 16 year old son and can relate. Kids like this don't need felony charges and jail time. They need a second chance to learn from their mistakes and follow a different path. I'm praying for you and your son!

We have done all of this. A fifty page packet with letter from all sources including coaches and teachers, hair follicle drug test results, report cards, attendance records, wrestling history and rewards, medical records, etc. and yet the DA is refusing to amend even knowing that it is a non expungeble felony. His license was terminate. I did that myself. And he doesn't even want to drive and wouldn't be allowed to anyways cause I wouldn't allow him too. And again he has absolutely no priors. He has never been in trouble his whole life. The judge doesn't have the authority to amend the charge only sentencing.

This CHILD shouldn't be punished as an adult. He was scared. He is a CHILD.

Children are just that. Children. As law inforcement you need to really see if they are truly criminals or scared children. Please help develop our children and quit assuming they are evil. It is truly sad when they have to be so scared instead of trusting in the system to help them

There is no need to ruin a childs life for this infraction. He should receive some kind of punishment as lives were put in danger but not a felony...save it for the low lifes who truly deserve it. Hopefully this petition helps. Good luck!

Very few kids like him in our society. Amend the charges and save the fenoly for those who truly deserve it.

If they're going to do anything to him, take away his license until he's 18, give him community service, a fine and be done with it. Yes what he did was against the law, dangerous and could of ended worse. But why ruin him for life when there's way worse going on out in the community.

Everyone made mistakes as a youth. If it was his first offense and first time getting pulled over I'm sure he was scared and tried to speed away. Please pardon this young man, hopefully he learned his lesson!
