Recently one of my favorite teacher’s/director’s/influencer’s, Mr.Johnson’s YouTube was shut down due to copyright infringement. Mr.Johnson is known for posting Belleville West’s phenomenal theater performances on YouTube for those who aren’t able to attend the shows on performance nights. He is also known for teaching a multi/mass media class for those who want to potentially move forward in the career of film. Alongside that, he posts progress videos and projects so that the students will always have access to look at their accomplishments throughout high school. This has been a tradition he has taken part in for many years, and he, along with many students, are quite devasted about this occurrence. Please, help get our memories back, and all of the hard work Mr.Johnson has done to get where he is now. He asked for 24 hours to take the video down that was copyrighted to at least get his channel back, and no one from the legal team has responded. Maybe this will grab their attention when I contact them. Help us and many other students from alumni, to years to come, and sign this petition to help Mr.J get his YouTube channel back!
I spent the entire morning drafting emails to the support team because the lack of response is honestly just baffling. People have been sending me such incredible stories about how these videos helped them through hard times and it makes me even more determined to get the channel back up. It is strange how a few automated copyright claims can just wipe out years of history without a human even looking at the situation.

Mr. Johnson puts his heart and soul into his productions. He is a wonderful teacher and mentor to his students. You allow all kinds of tasteless, inappropriate things to be on Youtube, yet you want to remove his positive videos of students exhibiting true talent? This is an amazing outlet for these kids. They want to have an opportunity to be seen and heard. Please allow Mr. Johnson to continue posting these shows. Many family members would not be able to see the productions if it were not for his channel. Thank you for your time and consideration.

This is my school’s history. We painstakingly fundraised for the materials and scripts and skill to put on these shows. Don’t make us lose all of our hard work and our community’s money, please. We aren’t trying to earn money. This is just for our history, so that if this platform survives long enough we can show even our children them.

Mr. Johnson is a wonderful man that only wants his students to grow and become successful in their creative pursuits. His channel is a way to help put all of our work out there, we can't let that get taken away from us.

I used to watch the performances that he posted and was very confused when I clicked the link on my bookmarks and it said the video was no longer available.

Mr. Johnson is an amazing teacher both in the classroom and as a phenomenal director in the theatre department. His channel has allowed me to show my family from across the states the shows I do, as well as allow me to look back at all the wonderful shows West has done. I will be severely disappointed if his channel is not reinstated.

We have immediate family who live our of state. They help support the theatre programs at West (by purchasing ads for shows even when they can not attend, and attending in person whenever they can). They rely on Mr Johnson's channel to see the performances.
