We're a developmental football team here in Charlotte. And we all need to support our businesses in our community!

If the city had someone with any sort of a brain running the show, they would realize what an asset that building is. Put that building in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and they would figure out how to get (and keep) businesses in there.
Why not give businesses rent "cheap" and try to help the businesses survive by advertising like a mall would and not put road blocks in place to prevent the businesses from growing? Wilmorite advertises their malls and it appears to work...
Why not get shops, cafes, etc. in there where the open hall is to generate year round traffic? Kind of like a mini strip mall or even something similar to "The Shops On West Ridge". People in there spending money is generating revenue to the city in the form of sales tax and makes the local economy stronger. No businesses in there generates $0 in to the economy. As tax payers, we're paying a lot of $ to keep that building there and there won't be any businesses being run there if Margio's and Retro Lounge leave except for California Rollin' II that struggles in the winter months also. Are they the next to go? Nobody knows that there are any businesses open in the port building this time of year...The city needs to help themselves, the businesses and the Rochester residents by advertising and holding events there and reducing rent. So much work went into building that marina but if the city doesn't help keep businesses here, there won't be anything there for the boaters to enjoy when they dock in the summer. "Let's make the Port of Rochester great again!"

Save Mom's Margio's/Retro Lounge at the Port of Rochester. The city is dead wrong on this one! The city should be backing people willing to have a business in the old ferry building, not having varying rent per square foot for the various businesses within the same building. Jeff Scott has worked very hard to bring in business to the Charlotte area, good business with a good clientele to the area. It's not right for the city to say things are okay for one business and not for others.

The thing the city is doing is wrong. You need more of these types of places to get people to enjoy the "port".
