Try them out and see if you guys like them. If not then try to make them fit your standard but if nothing works then let them go. There's nothing wrong with giving it a shot.

Like the statement says, "majorettes are not just vulgar dancers," because they're not. Believe it or not judges at band competitions look at whether a band has majorettes or not. Majorettes and flag girls help the visual of the band along with the percussionist. Please allow them to have majorettes.
