I cannot believe that our country is treating this young lady in this way. Someone needs to see sense in this case and let her become an Australian. Mr Dutton or who ever has the power should give her a visa. Her teachers and the huge number of people in our community who know this girl should be listened to. It is obvious that a gross injustice is occurring in regard to her case. Our law is wrong to not have a mechanism to deal with her case. We cannot send her back to what would be an untenable situation and death at the hand of extended family members. Please let her out and stop the damage you are doing to a lovely young woman and a very lovely and caring new husband who is also now one of us.

On any view of this sad situation, there can only be one decision. Empathy and compassion must prevail over the perceived need to be consistent. Why else do we need the word 'exception' in our language?

Is this really the direction in which we are going to allow our so called 'leaders' to take us? Mr Dutton are we building a cold, heartless, society where compassion and kindness for those in need is going to gradually disappear? I hope not! Drop the political claptrap and be a real human being! Give this poor girl a break from all the pain and abuse she has been through! Let her stay in Australia and be reunited with her lawful husband, Malad! Do the right and decent thing Mr Dutton!

I am sure these young people have a lot to contribute to our country and they are obviously determined to do this, given the chance. They are obviously so much in love. Shame on Mr Dutton........there are a lot of people allowed to settle here who do not assimilate and don't contribute to our community. Can we even imagine what she has fled from and they want her to return to this???? Cruel and utterly heartless.
