We are in the same drama class and despite her struggles, she still pushes herself to achieve good marks. She is always smiling and it brightens my day. If she gets taken my drama lesson will not be the same. I all ready miss her

Everyone deserves the right to live in a country where their voice is heard and many people come to Australia believing this is the place where they can be acknowledged for their human rights. If we ignore the rights of people seeking asylum, how is our government any better than the governments of their war-torn countries?

This inhumane treatment of our fellow human beings might be being done in my name by my government but it is not with my permission. We are ALL one race

Some common sense and compassion in this and many other asylum seekers situations is desperately needed.

Release this poor woman from detention, please. Give her back to her husband, allow her to finish her education, and remain in Australia.

So kidnapping and detaining a victim of torture who escaped a vicious regime makes us worse than the regime that did this in the first place, because we know better. We ought to know better, and we tell the rest of the world we do know better. So how about we DO better.

Our govt needs to truly rethink and give our fellow human beings a chance. It would be interesting if the shoes on the other foot

We need to stop our government before we become even more shameful in the eyes of history.

Is our government completely ignorant of the conditions for women in Iran?

It is sad that we as a country care more about a cricket game, then this. This is wrong:
