Unbelievable. Im ashamed to call myself an Australian right now. This government does NOT reflect the opinions of the majority of people, who would be shocked and disgusted at the treatment of this poor woman. My heart breaks for her, and her lovely husband.

Rules/Law are made with a spirit of intention. When such destructive consequence develop, then we need to be questioning the rules and sequences. What is going on in this country? I am losing my pride in being an Australian day by day witnessing nonsense around me.

Release this woman & let her live her life here. She will only benefit the community, she has shown this by doing her HSC! Rape is a valid reason to seek assylum!

Why stop a woman from finishing her education - a key need for all women. Why send this young woman back to a country where she is likely to face torture and sexual abuse?
What is the sense of this government policy? It needs to change NOW.

How can the government claim to be in favour of so-called traditional family values while allowing this to go on?

she is young, married and smart ... why are we saying no ... there is no need for cruelty in our country ... it's sad enough that so many people have to flee their homes but it's un-thinkable to deport a young woman who most certainly will face harm if deported ... please don't let this happen ... thank you ...

Our treatment of refugees is appalling and will be unanimously condemned in years to come as we look back at this dark chapter of Australian history. Let this lady apply for her spouse visa. Detaining her doesn't protect Australia or its citizens... rather, it shames us.
