Better service = better experiences for the customer. Share the wealth(and the cheese)! We live in a diverse society where we need to be non-discriminatory to a person's diet or other needs, where reasonable.

i am a very huge proponent of drinking wine and tasting it. and I also love meat. however I agree that vegetable are an important and inseparable item for food. We as a race need to work harder to incorporate more vegetables into our meals.

As a vegan, I am all too familiar with this type of situation. I have been told countless times that I have no right to impose my lifestyle or expect people to accommodate me because of it. I believe that all guests should be given compassion and consideration. The fact that your patrons were not invited, but came on their own volition should mean something. It should mean that they should get what they pay for, as they say. If they choose to give you business, choose to respect them by providing proper customer service. Do not charge for what you are not willing to provide - if you charge for wine and food, then the customers deserve just that. There should always be compromise and solution, never refusal or disrespect. Please amend your policy and menu, so that all customers, regardless of their lifestyle, can enjoy themselves without fear of discomfort or hunger. Do the right thing and accommodate ALL your guests. Oh, and go vegan (it makes the wine taste better)!

Having experience working with client services in a corporate environment, I find it quite unfathomable that a service provider will be so uncooperative with their clients. In this particular case, the specifics could have been very easy to accommodate or at least compromise on, especially in the instance where an additional tray of fruits and cheese was asked to replace one of the many meat sandwiches trays. This request did not seem to take much physical effort whatsoever, and through a cost-effective scope, it would have much cheaper to your own company to do so; while simultaneously raising customer satisfaction - vital practice for business growth.
However, regardless of the specifics in this case, it is the overall unwillingness and quick shutdown of customer's requests that is very difficult to accept. If it is not obvious to the owner yet, customers' satisfaction is what will make or break a customer service based business.
Working around clients needs, or at least an honest and sincere attempt to do so, not only creates customer's loyalty, which translates to returning customers, but - even more significantly - it generates positive comments, remarks and recommendation to many potential customers. The absolute and complete opposite of what this experience will do.

It's 2015. Making sandwiches with no meat is not only super simple but cheaper.

Considering that Elegant Wine Tours is based in long island, I would imagine that a lot of their clients come from NYC which is an incredibly diverse place in terms of cultures and diets. Though I am not a vegetarian myself I know tons of vegetarians who also love wine and simply cannot imagine why serving a cheese or vegetable only sandwiches would be such a difficult accomodation to come by. If anything, I find it would increase their bussiness.

Every business has to satisfy the needs of its clientele. Offering paying customers a choice in what to eat is the right thing to do! After all, a happy customer is a returning customer!

To make for happy customers, why not offer meal alternatives that comply with some of the more common special diets these days - such as vegetarianism? Certainly it makes sense to offer (at least) a cheese-only plate on a wine tour? Thank you very much for your consideration of this issue.

I think it would be nice to give healthy options. People who drink wines tend to be very aware of their own health. I hope they do the right thing.

having only sandwhiches, is not he best idea! At one place they offered a salad at least with no meat on it.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I think having the option to choose what you want to eat is cool.
