Help me keep my Father's dying wish, to keep me & my 3 children in our family home
My name is Jolene Byrne and I have 3 children from the ages for 1 to 9 years of age. My father and mother moved our family up to Drumbeg, Craigavon 22 years ago from Bray, Co. Wicklow. My Mother passed away in July 2014 with a massive stroke, my Father also took ill in 1996 with his heart. My father had been ill for over 20 years, however, my Father pasted away on 8th October this year. I was my Mum and Dads carer. At Christmas 1997 my father took a total of 9 heart-attacks and had to go through a quadrupedal Bypass.
In June 2000 on the night of my grandfather's funeral my father took another massive stroke, he lost his speech and lost his leg and arm movement. In 2001 I was told to move out as my father was depending on me to much and the rehabilitation team and stroke doctor said it was holding back his progress, he spent a year and a half in hospital recovering.
In may 2002 I got a house in a estate just across the road but I was with my Dad everyday from then to his death. Before my Dad's death I give up my house in Ardowen 8 days before my Father died. I moved in with my Dad as he had deteriorated so much. However the Northern Ireland Housing Executive are now wanting me and my children to move out of our family home.
I had removal men move all my belongings and cannot afford it again, I have a funeral and grave bill to pay for.also the house contains a massive attic where my Dad's life time of collections and life time of family sentimental items are. I do not have this space in Ardowen and would not be able to afford storage. My kids were very close with their Granny and Granda and have been badly affected by my mothers death and now they have their Granda's loss to deal with, asking us to move back out it has impacted with school and general problems due to their grief and not knowing were they will be living health has suffered significantly my weight has dropped to 6 and a half stone from three years ago when daddy dropped dead in front of me in Tescos, The doctor told me I am suffering with post- traumatic stress syndrome. So I ask for your help in help me and my children to stay in our family home as this was my Father's last dying wish.

I am still overwhelmed by the kindness people have shown my family during this really difficult transition. Reading these comments reminds me that I am not alone in this fight even when things feel impossible.

This would be a utter shame if this girl and her family were to have to move.... whatever happen to compasion.... i would like to think there are still good people In this world that can see this family need to stay an hold on to their memories. That's all they have now. Life is hard enough without this worry.... let them stay.... it's ok only paper work for the housing. Teresa Mckinstry
She should be allowed to keep on house what difference does it make for housing ex they are still getting back a 3 bed house
This family has been through enough. It would be heartless and more traumatic to take away their home too
This girl and her children have every right to stay in this home. There is people allocated houses for far less reasons than this. Lived in Craigavon all my life and I still have to private rent, even as a taxpayer this 25 years I still haven't even got a point. Anyway Jolene. I really hope u get to stay in ur family home. If not, take it the whole way. Best of luck xx
This young woman has had nothing but heartaches from her Mother died 3 years past and now her Dad so she needs to be able to stay were she is at present in her parents family home this is scandalous putting this girl who has now bad health an mental health herself out on the streets .
