My pigeon cured my depression and is literally the only reason I get enough vitamin d to not be considered critically deficient lmao.

Congratulations on taking an interest in the world of pigeons.
Go for it, pigeons are probably the best pet you could have, they're silent, they are cuddly, they are safer than both cats and dogs and have an excellent history alongside humans.
I advice you to adopt rather than purchase, there are so many pigeons on shelters that need a loving home and cannot be released for a variety of reasons.
I'm sure you did your research. But some things to take into account:
A regular bird cage won't do, you'll need something that's WIDE, and for perches, get the ones that are wider, preferably set up platforms for their dragon feet. The primary use of the cage is for when they cannot be outside, i.e. it's dangerous for them, it's night time or during their first few days at your home.
Pigeons get bored, you'll have to provide plenty of outside the cage time and lots of company, if possible adopt your future pigeon alongside another, try to either get a male/female couple or a female/female one, and make sure you get them a few toys, leftover cat toys from your old friend can be a good starting point.
For food, I recommend you get barley. Birdseed, cracked corn and rice, if you find a specialized pigeon store they'll sell ready to serve mixes. Get some sun flower seeds and unsalted peanuts for treats, they go crazy for that, you could also get away with A LITTLE bread once or twice a week as a treat. Their water must be in a container that's deep enough for them to dip their whole beak in.
That should be everything, remember you can keep your birds indoors 24/7, prepare a window with chicken wire or fashion an outside aviary for them, they really are great pets. Best of luck getting signers, any questions shoot me an email.
