The trails of this forest are critical to draw visitors and revive the local economy after the pandemic.

It seems that timber harvest next to the local communities is a bad idea. Can't the harvest be in the further easterly regions that lessen the impact to local communities? What is the purpose of this harvest?

C-19 has highlighted the need for recreation near towns. We need places to walk and swim in healthy forests.

Access to the mountain bike trails in Jackson is what lures me up from Marin County.

I'm a Sonoma County resident, and frequently visit Jackson Demonstration State Forest for camping, hiking, running, and general relaxation in nature. One of the primary reasons my partner and I choose to live in this area is the access it affords to beautiful publicly owned lands like Jackson. I'm disappointed that timber harvest plans were developed without regard for their impact on the recreational values provided by the Forest. I wholeheartedly agree with this petition's contention that recreation should be a primary mandate and not just an afterthought.

Plenty of timber out there in other remote areas that can be harvested.

Recreation uses should be Considered and protected as a part of state owned open space.

All forrest activities and neighbors should be equally evaluated when timber harvests are considered. A full recreation mandate is required to save our trails.

Why would you do this to pristine land that so many people enjoy. It is also a source of revenue for our coastal community that depends on visitors who enjoy the outdoors that they do not have in the city environment.

The state doesn’t need to log here. So many people recreate in these forests. Please leave them as they are.

I support saving the trail network at Jackson State Forest. I’m from Sonoma County and I regularly drive up to Mendocino to spend my weekends and my money there, with riding those trails being the main reason for the trip.

There must be a way to preserve recreation opportunities while still allowing for sustainable logging.

I regularly travel to Mendocino for mountain biking recreation and I always spend money at local businesses during my stay. Mendocino Trail Stewards and the Trail Donkey crew do wonderful work up there.

Jackson demonstration forest trails are an asset to the area. I come up from Santa Rosa and try to support local businesses when I do
