Help Make Recreation a Priority in Jackson Demonstration State Forest

I love recreating in and around Jackson Demonstration State Forest and doing so is my primary reason for traveling to Mendocino.

It is very important to protect recreational opportunities so people can learn to cherish the outdoors and protect for future generations.

The woods and trails around mendocino are the reason many of us visit and spend money in Mendo and the local towns.

Please maintain recreation! We love the Jackson forest area. Thank you.

I've spent dozens of weekends and thousands of dollars in Mendocino and Fort Bragg over the last few years as a result of the recreational opportunities in Jackson Forest. Please make recreational uses a priority!

Soquel Demo Forest is able to balance recreation with forestry projects. Why not Jackson?

outdoor recreation is a key economic driver to nearby communities and will continue to grow.

The planned logging going to be detrimental to the ecology and economy of the area for years to come.

In favor of striking more balance between logging activities and recreation. Let's preserve as many of our forests as possible.

In this age of climate crisis the best use of the forest is to let it grow--doing its job of sequestering carbon.

Please preserve the mountain bike trails and nature! This is far too precious to tear it down for commodity wood.

Bob Estes - I'm not familiar with how Jackson compares with other demonstration forests like Soquel, but it appears that the proposed logging in Jackson is much more impactful than the projects we've seen in Soqel which typically shuts one trail down at a time. I entirely support mountain biking and that has been the reason for my visits to Medincino. I support strategies to minimize trail downtime in the Jackson demonstration forest.

Make recreation a priority of all public forest lands and where logging needs to happen to create a healthier forest, incentivize loggers to work with local trail orgs to limit the impact on existing trails.
