My daughter's high school currently has a cheerleader with special needs on JV, and a girl confined to a wheelchair on Freshman team. It makes them so happy to be part of the team and the rest of the team wouldn't have it any other way. When they do skills that they cannot physically participate in, they cheer along with the team usually with poms. It is a great thing to watch and every child should be given the opportunity. I hope she gets to participate. <3

Step up, Coyle Middle School. This girls deserves a chance and your school would benefit immensely from having a special needs child representing your school. She will be more genuinely spirited than any other girl on your team!

I, too, have a special needs daughter (moderate cerebral palsy) and she is the most popular girl at her school! (3rd grade) She'd make a marvelous cheerleader and I can't imagine that this sweet Madison wouldn't, as well! Give her a shot! <3

In today's Society we are open to transgender, but we are not open to making an exception for a special needs girl.... Makes little sense in the terms of equality. Equality being that everyone is given the same opportunities as the person next to them, regardless of sex, race, or disability. So for a school district to deny a special need girl from her happiness is a where we fail as a society. So I hope that others follow the petition and as a sosiety we make a difference.
