I think these girls and boys deserve to be on the sqaud just the same. I understand that there are other types of programs put there, but these kiddos are in Jr High and High School once just like everyone else. Please give them a fair chance if they can hold up to the challenge. I'm a parent of a Special Needs Adult/Child. It's heartbreaking for us when they are turned away.

Clearly this young lady deserves a chance to cheer with her peers! Just think of how much your team would gain in respect from others and the compassion you would install in your athletes.

Every child deserves a chance and a special needs child for sure needs that chance even if it means making an accommodation to help them be as successful as they can be . School is a fleeting time but confidence and good life lessons are forever

Having a special needs teammate on my high school cheer team was a wonderful experience, no child should be deprived of her passions. Maddie has more to teach this world than could ever be imagined.

Teach your kids some acceptance, teach your ADULTS in charge some inclusiveness to all children, let someone on the team who's in it for the love of the sport. My team has allowed a special needs girl to cheer all her high school years with a teacher assisting her and it has been great for her and the program. It would not hurt anyone/thing to have Madison on the team. If anything, she would benefit it!
