They need to stop their discrimanation. Not letting her is a discrimanation. The constituents needs to be amended to add handicap to the race, Creed, sex discrimanation act. Not fair to this child. She is able to do it.

Success and self esteem are not limited to academics! Thus we have arts and extracurricular activities in school which should be open to all!!

I can only pray this school district does not add to the issues of bulleying in this world. That's disgusting! She still a human and you work more on teaching the students to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!

Every girl should get the chance to cheer is that's what she loves. It's a great way to make new friends and make great memories. High school is a time to live without regrets. Let this little girl do what every cheerleader dreams of, making the cheer squad!

Having a special needs shouldn't hinder you from doing what you want or what you love. She has every right to be on that team and would be a great addition. They should show children to love each other no matter what, not judge them. Let her cheer!!!!!

Madison is a CHAMPION and will be a great addition to the TEAM. Her spirit and light will certainly create the winning environment all cheer teams look to achieve.

Every child should have the opportunity to try out for every activity in school and if they are special needs they should be given a bigger chance to be part of the activity. It does not hurt or take an effort to be kind to a child!

For a middle school they seem to care way too much of who is on a cheer team. Times change, they've never had someone with Down's syndrome on the team well guess what there's someone who does and has been doing it on an all star team for so many years love cheer so much that she is fighting long and hard to prove to them that she is good enough and deserves to be in this team too!! Let her do what she loves most!!

anyone can do anything but limiting them won't allow them to have confidence to do anything to their potential

One of my family's old family friends have a daughter with downs and she was actually on the cheer team for Mt Juliet High School. She was also voted for in homecoming her junior year. She seems to really like it and actually her speech even got a little better. Some words she wouldn't have even been able to get clearly she still had some trouble with but she improved to where she could say it clear enough for you to better understand her. So it really would be beneficial to her and really everyone.
