Ketchikan's water views are priceless and part of its history and integrity as a community thats an intergrel part of the roots of Alaskas identity. It is imperative we do not allow companies or people to taint that with massive distractions or entirely blocking the natural and history beauty of our city, harbors, and surroundings.

Our neighborhood's have height restrictions so should our vanishing coastal areas. Our tourism depends on water views, possible whale sightings. Their first viewing of seaplane, heck of our water activities!
All of the above is also of major import to we the residents, survivors and taxpayers.
Please show wisdom in your choice to benefit your neighbors.

PLEASE do not allow this building to be more then 2 stories. This neighborhood is historic and not only will it block the views of many local people, but it will also destroy the quaint aesthetic of Newtown. Thank you.

I believe should be limited to two stories. Sounds like more info should be provided by builder.

I am not all that enthusiastic about a building blocking my view but even less enthusiastic about losing it for another seasonal tourist shop. If the people/business in question were building low and middle income housing I would help them drive the pilings myself as that is something our community actually needs more of.

Two stories fits the aesthetic’,s of the area. Do not let these investors who don’t know or care about the history of our town come here and build their city high rises blocking the sun and water view from us residents!

The downtown area will not benefit from any new buildings over 2 stories along the waterfront. This would replace the old Norby building if I am correct it was a two storie building. If any new construction happens it needs to only replace the look that use to be there from the water. What happened to the rule of only being able to build one story above your highest property line? Don't let people from other places change Ketchikan, So much has changed over the years and alot of it was not for the good. Like the fact that we built the fire station "worthy of any large city down south" About 3 feet above high tide level then placed the library where the fire station should have be placed at about 300 feet. Makes no sense to me?
