Help Lincoln Park Senior Community get built before it's too late!

Whatcom County dementia/Alzheimer's patients and their families need a proper environment for patients who can no longer be cared for at home. I kept my father, who had AD, in my home for 5 1/2 years. Not only did this cost me a job, it also forced me to neglect other family members; I looked for a suitable residence for him but none put my mind at ease. Surely something can be done to resolve the "issues" putting this project in jeopardy. Care for our aging should be of more importance than competing political or financial concerns. The job of Whatcom County government is to serve the residents. Fewer of us than ever believe that you are serving us any longer. At some point this egregious misuse of authority will backfire. Take the rejection of the people for the new jail as a sign of the times.

Another case for protecting our bundle of rights

My mother had Altzheimer's for 13 years and luckily for us, she was able to be well looked after until she passed away in her small Canadian town. Altzheimer's disease is very devastating to families and it would be wonderful to have a new facility in a peaceful country setting where the patients could be cared for and nurtured. I could have Altzheimer's myself someday and hope that common sense will prevail and you will see fit to grant the permit application without further ado so that we can take good care of our seniors.

Allow development..I'm a Snior Citizen and may choose to reside there.

My grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's and I wish that she had the proper care she needed. Please allow this project to more forward.

They just keep doing this time and time again. They clearly are not for the people. Waste of taxpayers money.

I think that A senior living facility is much needed in our community.

I'm appalled that finances would be used as an excuse!! God forbid your families should need assistance or a place to call home. Lincoln Park could be helping the very People that helped make your city what it is today! This needs to move forward promptly.

I believe that it is a communities responsibility to invest and provide accommodations / facilities such as this to the elderly, many of them have probably worked and contributed to your city for many years, in many ways. A "Great Community Leaders"do not just take, they also give back.

I could not believe the injustice here when I looked into. Please help the Senior citizens, they need it badly.

Every community needs a place for people with this type of need. Politics should not hinder the efforts of Mr. Carney to provide a much needed facility.
