We have been coming to OKI several times a year for fishing and family time. I am afraid to take our Sea Hunt Triton 202 out through Lockwood Folly Inlet the past two years. We take the ICW down to Southport to access the Atlantis. Please help open this inlet so normal boat traffic can once again safely access the ocean.

I OWN A BEACH HOME NEAR HOLDEN BEACH AND RELY ON THE LOCKWOOD FOLLY INLET TO ACCESS THE OCEAN FOR RECREATIONAL FISHING FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE INLET FOR 18 MONTHS AND IF IT ISN'T DREDGED SOON I WILL LIKELY BE LOOKING FOR A NEW LOCATION FOR MY FAMILY AND I TO ENJOY THE OCEAN. HOPEFULLY I WILL BE ABLE TO RECOUP MY CURRENT INVESTMENT IN LAND AND A NEW HOME?

As a new resident and boat owner, access to the ocean via the Lockwood Folly Inlet was a key consideration in our decision to relocate to the area.

Access to the open water at Lockwood Folly is important for safety as well as for sport and commercial boating and fishing. If rescue and emergency vessels have to go to Shallotte inlet, or as far as Southport, to access the open water, people in distress off the western end of Oak Island or the Eastern end of Holden Beach could well be lost before aid could reach them.

hoden beach town manager is not doing his job, why get a raise if he can!t do his job.City leaders feel asleep also,get off your butts and get the inlet open.

unsafe now, navigation buoys should be removed until it is safe again.
